Originally trained in improvisational acting at Anna Schers Drama School, Michael attended the University of Surrey completing a BA in Film & Television Studies in 2006, specialising in Dystopian Film and Quality Television Drama.
‘Still Waters Run Deep’ was his first short film and has been shown at over 25 festivals spread over 3 continents. The short has won numerous awards including Best Drama at Alaska International Film Festival and showed as part of the Best Newcomer collection at the Soho Rushes Festival in London.
Since then Michael hasn't stopped writing and creating!
Michael is also a qualified Project Manager and works at Barchester Healthcare, specialising in automation and digitisation of manual processes. A typical day comprises of managing multiple tasks, the majority of which are to progress multiple live projects and ensure smooth handover of completed products to customers.
"Writing is a passion of mine and therefore has driven me to pursue writing and directing my own short film projects part time, where I have been fortunate enough to win multiple awards for my writing, directing and editing skills.
My experience is varied, from the lateral thinking required for project management to the eccentric world of creative writing and film making; I have been able to use my knowledge from these two crafts and harness them into my professional life creating innovative ideas and forward thinking concepts."
